Sourcing land for equestrian use is not easy, especially when there is simply not enough land available to us. There are 847,000 horses in the UK IN 2023 which is only expected to go up!
The equestrian industry generates 4.7 billion into the economy and more needs to be done to facilitate our growing market.
Follow me as I delve into this topic regularly, and what we can do to campaign to secure more land for our equines.
In 2005 the British horse industry released their strategy for the English and Welsh equine industry. This included considering
the environmental impact of the horse
They made reference to several key elements which I’ve summarised in pictures.
